In Search of What Matters Most
For some, it could be money or fame; yet for most, it is love.
Relationships. In the intricate tapestry of family dynamics, the bond between a mother and her child is often regarded as one of the strongest and most fundamental. Yet when circumstances unfold and a mother departs from her child’s life, the repercussions ripple through the very fabric of their existence. The departure of a mother, whether temporary or permanent, brings forth a myriad of emotions, challenges, and adjustments, not only for the child but for the entire family unit. When a mother leaves a child, the consequences and impact depend on various factors including the age of the child, the reason for the mother leaving, the support network available to the child, and the relationship dynamics within the family.
Friendships, the threads that weave through the tapestry of our lives, can sometimes fray and unravel, leading to the poignant reality of friendships being over. When friendships end, it’s often a deeply emotional and sometimes turbulent experience, marked by a range of emotions and reflections. Kristy Ventura is one of those struggling with a broken family dynamic. Her mother did leave her and her father, and she thinks he is to blame for the dysfunction—and her emotional and psychological issues, which are often the cause of her fights with just about anyone.
With all her emotional and psychological baggage, she lost even the person she considered to be her partner, Violet Wayne. And it’s true when they say, “You don’t know what you got till it’s gone.” And about that time when Kristy was going to make up with Violet, she could not find Violet. She learned that Violet is in another country. And she would do anything in her power—and even cross whatever part of the globe she needed to cross in order to connect with Violet and make the wrong things right. Follow Kristy’s journey towards reconciliation in The Door Behind Me.
